Supportmeldung:
Ein Kunde meldet, dass er mit Nord VPN in seiner Ferien-Wohnung in Spanien kein TV schauen kann und fügte an, dass irgendwas blockiere.
Situationsanalyse:
Mit Nord VPN und Mobile-Jump-VPN kommt immer eine Fehlermeldung "Netzwerk Problem, Von diesem Netzwerk ist es nicht möglich einen Stream auszuführen".
Lösungsfindung:
Aktuell verwenden wir das Geoblocking von "Maxmind GeoIP2 mit Anonymous IP". und da werden auch VPN Service Anbieter wie NORD VPN blockiert. Hier ein Auszug aus unserem Vertrag mit einem Content-Anbieter.
2.5 Geographic Limitation of Distribution
Platform Operator shall ensure that the xxx Programmes are only accessible in the territory of Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Platform Operator shall safeguard the geographic limitation by means of an industry standard system for geo-location that is accepted by xxx Companies' licensors ("Geoblocking System"). This system shall prevent the distribution outside of the Territory by checking the current Customer's IP address before any video delivery. Platform Operator shall ensure that the database used for the differentiation of the IP addresses is updated at least weekly and that all video requests via any kind of proxy servers, anonymizing and/or VPN services and other means of circumvention of the geographic limitation are rejected. The Geoblocking System shall be chosen by Platform Operator and needs to be approved by xxx Companies. The approval may only be rejected or withdrawn due to requirements of xxx Companies' licensors. xxx Companies hereby approves Platform Operators' Geoblocking mechanism which will be over "IP White-Lists" knowing the IP-of Platform Operators' business-clients and if the Platform Operator decides to provide a Service for residentials, the Platform Operator will use "Maxmind GeolP2 with Anonymous IP'
Fazit:
Wir werden bis Ende Jahr auf einen anderen Geoblocking Anbieter wechseln Digital Element. Interessant wäre zu prüfen, ob es dann mit Nord VPN geht.-)
